Situated in the Upper Palani Hills at the former site of Fort Hamilton, Berijam Lake lies within the Upper Palani Shola Reserve Forest, a haven for birdwatchers. Keep your binoculars handy, as you may spot crested serpent eagles, pariah kites, pale-rumped swallows, and edible-nest swiftlets. Migratory birds like common rosefinch, blue chat, leaf-warblers, and Blyth’s reed warblers also frequent the area.
